Re: “An international intervention is needed in Syria,” Sept. 5 letter to the editor.
A letter-writer asks why a United Nations coalition doesn’t act against Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. The writer seems unaware that Russia has vetoed U.N. action. Syria is home to Russia’s only naval base in the Mediterranean.
