
1 Ghost driver. A man reported a suspicious car parked outside his home in the 700 block of Vaughn Street on Aug. 31. The car was running, but no one was inside. The steering column was also broken.
2 Roadside threats. Police responded to the intersection of East Wyoming Drive and South Chambers Road because a man said another driver pointed a pistol at him while they were both travelling south on Chambers on Aug. 26. The victim pulled over, but couldn’t get the license plate number.
3 Favorite band. Someone broke into a woman’s car while it was parked outside her home in the 4200 block of South Argonne Street on Aug. 23. The suspect tore the driver’s side window completely out of the door and stole her radio and favorite “Beartooth” CD.
4 Mistaken towing. A woman called police because a towing company took her car from her apartment complex in the 11100 block of East 16th Avenue by mistake Aug. 31. When she got her car back, it appeared someone tried to break into it. She filed charges against the property manager.
5 Break in. A man went to his home in the 4800 block of South Pitkin Way after work and noticed that someone broke in his front door and stole two laptops, two gaming consuls and a backpack Aug. 26. There are no suspects.
6 Purse thieves. Three people went into the Michael’s at 6352 S. Central St., split up, and then began cutting security tags and stealing purses Aug. 21. Loss prevention was unable to get a picture of the getaway car’s license plate.
