Interview with Bonnie Bruns, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: I altered clothes, sold jewelry and painted furniture at American Classics Marketplace in Colorado Springs and the Emporium in Castle Rock.❤️

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: I have created all of our displays by hand. I built, painted, altered and custom-built huge gorgeous shadowboxes. I made all of my lampshades and sewed all of my flowers by hand, and everyone loves my decor. We are an official sponsor for the Mrs. Colorado America Pageant and have a lot of “bling,” including tiaras and crown items. We have been told we have the best boutique in the Denver metro area. We just got a best of the best award for boutiques, antiques and retail, and best alterations for Parker.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: The boutique is a happy place. We create one-of-a-kind items, and you should come see them.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Location. We are a block off Mainstreet in Parker. I would say about 70 percent of our customers say they never knew we were here. We have been in business just over a year.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: We are a proud sponsor for the Mrs. Colorado America Pageant. And that the store is partly named after my dog, Bella.
