1 Belligerent bicyclist. A street sweeping crew reported a bicyclist was causing a disturbance Sept. 3 while they were working in the area of West Colfax Avenue and Pierce Street in Lakewood. The cyclist stopped in front of the crew and refused to move after being asked to do so several times. Police learned the man had been drinking at a nearby park. After being arrested for violating a protection order, the man became hostile, spitting and coughing on the officers.

2 Car thief takes cat nap. A man was arrested Sept. 7 after he was found sleeping in a stolen vehicle in the area of West Woodard Drive and South Ammon Street in Lakewood. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

3 Shoplifter also a liar. A man was arrested Sept. 2 for shoplifting and giving false information at Home Depot, 6701 W. Alameda Ave. The man was seen stuffing merchandise down the front of his pants. He attempted to pay for other items at the self-checkout, but his card was declined and he proceed to exit the store. He lied to police about his name and age and was found to have a warrant out for his arrest.

4 Biker cited for DUI. A motorcyclist was arrested Sept. 1 for driving under the influence near West Jewell Avenue and South Kipling Parkway.

5 Tablet tussle. A woman living in the 1100 block of Teller Street, Lakewood, was arrested Sept. 7 for domestic violence and third-degree assault. Her boyfriend was reading a private message on her tablet and she became angry, jumping on him and scratching him in order to get back the device.
