Thomas Middleditch and Josh Brener on ‘Silicon Valley’ (Jaimie Trueblood, HBO)
Josh Brener, who plays “Big Head” on HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” will host a special night on Sept. 30 focused on HBO-related and entertainment-focused general trivia. So, The Denver Post/Shiny Objects is forming a team and we want you on it.
Team Captain, Denver Post digital editor Francie Swidler, is a trivia whiz and a Silicon Valley superfan for lucky winners. The event is at at World of Beer in Lodo, so any winners have to be 21.
Why are we doing this? Our determined that while HBO has some free passes to this event , they are so limited that the number available will not even get close to fleventyfive. Frankly, we don’t wanna live in a world where someone else makes the world a better place better than we do.

The event, sponsored by , will follow the traditional Geeks Who Drink model of two audio rounds — the first will be “Name that Tune” style and the second is comprised of soundbites from various HBO shows. Lots of giveaways, too. (Read: HBO has awesome shows with awesome schwag.)

Our lucky winners will also get an exclusive hoodie. Our only requirement is that we get a photo of the team in their hoodies. Why? Because we want to see if Gavin Belson’s “five programmers” theory applies to trivia teams, too.
Silicon Valley begins production on season 3 this fall.
