Eight years has passed since the last good Will Smith movie (“I Am Legend”). A decade has passed since the Fresh Prince released any music of note with 2005’s “Lost and Found” — minus his road dog, DJ Jazzy Jeff. Is it any wonder Smith wants fans to remember the good times of “Parents Don’t Just Understand” and “Big Willie Style”?
On location in Colombia, Smith discovered the pride of Bogotá in the Latin Grammy-nominated band Bomba Estéreo. The electro cumbia masters took Smith under their proverbial wings and churned out a hip, slaying remix of “Fiesta.” Jada Pinkett’s other half took to flowing in Spanish to create a steady stream of calypso breeze. (Bel Air Academy’s most famous graduate clearly studied in Spanish class, because he has a firm grasp on pronunciation.)
Look for a video for the remix to be released soon and according to Smith’s page, “Bad Boys 3 & 4,” look to be a reality. Buckle up, folks.
