Five lanes of westbound Interstate 70 have been closed near Peoria Street following an accident involving a semi-tractor trailer and a car, Denver police say.
“It’s going to be tied up for awhile,” said Mary McIver, Denver police spokeswoman.
The only traffic getting through around 7 a.m. was on the shoulder of the highway, McIver said.
The crash was reported at 6:11 a.m. between Peoria and Central Park, she said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
