Louisville’s Fresca Foods has purchased a majority stake in organic snackmaker Wonderfully Raw Gourmet Delights, continuing a year of growth for the privately held company.
The Wonderfully Raw product line — which includes Coco-Roons, Snip-Chips, Brussel-Bytes and Dipperz — joins Snack Out Loud Foods as Fresca’s second in-house brand. Fresca also provides manufacturing support to 10 other companies.
Fresca declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal. Wonderfully Raw production and the company’s 20 employees will remain in Watsonville, Calif.
Fresca, which employs 350 people, has seen strong growth recently, necessitating the conversion of 50,000 square feet from warehouse to manufacturing space this year.
Fresca Brands Innovation Group CEO Liz Myslik said Fresca has experienced sales growth of 35 percent year over year, and the company expects that trend to continue in 2016.
