A few days after he became Colorado’s first individual four-time champion in cross country, it was still a fun time for Paul Roberts.
“Yes, it’s exciting,” the Lyons senior said. “Everybody at school was happy with it.”
To celebrate as well as get ready for some upcoming national meets, Roberts said he and his teammates played some Ultimate Frisbee with cousins from nearby Mead.
“They came over to play and we had a great time,” Roberts said.
Along with the four cross-country titles, Roberts also has won seven championships in track, notably three straight in the 1,600 meters.
Next up: Qualifying for the national meets as he hopes to have four consecutive weeks of competition. The Nike Nationals qualifying will be Nov. 21 in Mesa, Ariz., then the Foot Locker on Nov. 27 in Wisconsin. The Nike finale will be in Portland, Ore., near the Nike headquarters, and the Foot Locker Championships will be at Balboa Park in San Diego.
