Re: “Colorado allowed to spend marijuana tax money, as voters reject refunds,” Nov. 4 news story.
Itap great that the pot tax revenues will be returned to the state government for proper spending, but what about the skyrocketing cost of college education in Colorado, specifically tuition at the University of Colorado and Colorado State University? For example, tuition for one year of law school at CU in 2004 was $6,500; last year it was $31,000. While the revenue/spending mechanisms are separate and different between K-12 and higher education, the legislature has to do something to make a university education in Colorado affordable again.
