A chilly morning paired with dense fog in some areas of Denver should lead into a mostly sunny, warmer weekend, forecasters said.

Temperatures along the Front Range dipped below freezing on Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Dense, patchy fog drifted from Fort Collins and Greeley to the northern suburbs of Denver, the weather service said.

Commuters on Interstate 25 north of Denver were warned to be careful as visibility was reduced to less than one quarter mile in some areas.

As the day progresses, skies are expected to clear. Forecasters predicted a high of 53 degrees for Saturday with a clear night and low of 32 degrees in the evening.

On Sunday, temperatures could climb to a high of 62 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

Snow is predicted for early in the week, possibly coming on Tuesday after a rainy afternoon, the weather service said.
