A Colorado State Patrol plane used to monitor traffic is helping track a vehicle Tuesday after Boulder Sheriff’s deputies and police called off a high-speed chase due to safety concerns Tuesday.

The chase began after a home invasion by at least one armed suspect, said Boulder County Cmdr. Heidi Prentup.

One person was injured in the robbery, she said.

The suspect fled into Boulder in a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban with front-end damage. Law enforcement stopped chasing the suspect, who was “driving very dangerously.”

When officers ended the pursuit on Colorado 128, at Interlocken Loop, the vehicle was headed toward Broomfield.

CSP Trooper Nate Reid said the patrol plane is helping search for the vehicle.
