A man who allegedly threw rocks at passing cars and then allegedly assaulted police officers has been charged with three felony assault counts.

Brian D. Deese, 44, faces three counts of second-degree assault and one count of reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, according to a Denver District Attorney’s office media release.

The charges allege that at about 3:50 p.m. on Nov. 5, Deese was throwing rocks at passing traffic near West Alameda Avenue and South Santa Fe Drive. When police arrived, Deese , who was seriously injured. Deese fled and then allegedly assaulted other officers before being taken into custody.

Deese is being held on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver court Dec. 10.
