The Adams County Coroner’s Office has identified the 36-year-old Boulder County armed robbery suspect who died last week following two high-speed chases.

Jason Leanard Mesaros, of Loveland, was slain on U.S. 85 and 144th Avenue in Brighton.

Mesaros was first chased by officers on Tuesday morning after he was suspected in a home-invasion robbery just west of Boulder in Sunshine Canyon.

Mesaros allegedly stole marijuana from a home there, authorities say.

Officers called off the first pursuit, but Mesaros was spotted again Tuesday night near Interstate 25 and Colorado 7 about 9 p.m.. The chase ended when Mesaros was fatally shot.

The shooting remains under investigation, authorities say.

The coroner’s office says Mesaros’ manner and cause of death are pending a police inquiry.
