
Eastbound Interstate 70 West is closed from Burlington to Denver from mile marker 291 to mile marker 448 because of adverse road conditions, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation at 8:45 a.m.
The department had no estimated time of reopening.
The eastbound C-470 ramp to northbound Interstate 25 is closed as of 9:20 a.m. due to multiple vehicle spinouts, CDOT said.
The department advised commuters to use an alternate route in the area.
A downed pole along Bowles Avenue closed the road from Coventry Lane to Platte Canyon Road around 9:15 a.m., according to the City of Littleton.
Xcel Energy crews are on scene replacing the damaged pole.
Eastbound Bowles Avenue is expected to be closed for at least 2 hours, and westbound Bowles Avenue is expected to be closed for at least four hours, the city said.
U.S. 36 is closed between Idalia and the Kansas state line due to inclement weather, CDOT said around 10:45 a.m. They did not have an estimated time of re-opening.
Interstate 25 opened in both directions from Monument Hill to Castle Rock around 7:30 a.m. after more than 100 stranded cars and weather conditions closed the road early Tuesday morning.
As crews clear the area at Plum Creek, Castle Rock division of Colorado State Patrol urged drivers to be patient and drive slowly.
Around 100 to 150 cars were stranded along the interstate from south of Castle Rock to Monument as of 6:20 a.m., according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Two semi-trucks are jackknifed on the road as of 6 a.m. Highway also closed at Plum Creek, the state patrol said.
Interstate 70 is closed east of Aurora due to hazardous conditions, snow and blowing snow.
“Please avoid and stay safe,” said Colorado State Patrol in a 7 a.m. tweet.
U.S. 24 and Colorado 94 are closed east of Colorado Springs due to weather conditions, state patrol said in a 7:11 a.m. tweet.
Arapahoe and Douglas Counties went on accident alert early Tuesday morning,the state patrol said.
“Do not go out and drive unless absolutely necessary,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office tweeted.
The Lakewood Police Department is on accident alert, the department said around 6:30 a.m.
Eastbound Interstate 76 is closed from mile marker 35 to mile marker 38 due to a semi-truck that has flipped over, the Colorado Department of Transportation said around 5 a.m.
Whiteout conditions closed Colorado 71 from Last Chance to Limon. Southbound 71 is also closed coming out of Limon, the department said.
Southbound Interstate 25 is closed from Walsenburg to New Mexico, the department said around 5:30 a.m. Northbound state line to Trinidad is also closed due to heavy snow and whiteout conditions.
