A 52-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of a friend.
Joel Sovine is also charged with tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of 54-year-old Gregory Carlson.
On Nov. 21, the two were at Carlson’s apartment in southwest Denver when the fatal shooting happened, according to a Denver District Attorney’s Office media release.
Sovine, after the incident, allegedly threw the gun into the South Platte River, according to the release.
He was arrested in Westminster a few days after the shooting.
Sovine is being held at the Denver jail. His next court appearance is scheduled Dec. 8.
