Bill Murray is responsible for one of the best Christmas movies with his reinterpretation of the holiday classic, “Scrooged.”
In an attempt to capture lightning in a bottle twice, Murray will star in another holiday-themed outing, the Netflix Yuletide special “A Very Murray Christmas.” Director Sophia Coppola tapped her boyfriend Thomas Mars’ band Phoenix to record a long lost Beach Boys track “Alone on Christmas Day” for the show.
Since Sofia has made this a family affair, why not include her cousin Jason Schwartzman as part of the parade with ex-Letterman ringleader Paul Shaffer, and New York Dolls’ David Johansen. Murray saves the day with his smokey vocals. That’s what years of karaoke buys, folks.
The holiday single is available for and all proceeds are to benefit UNICEF.
