Nederland folk band lost their instruments to an electrical fire that engulfed their tour bus last Friday.
The band was unharmed in the fire. They were on tour travelling overnight from North Carolina to Tennessee when the fire started.

The band wrote a note to their fans on the incident via their Facebook page:
The fire started at an outlet at the foot of Dan’s bunk. Had we not heard Bonnie yelling, ‘Smoke! Smoke! Smoke!’ who knows how things would’ve turned out. Fortunately, it was only possessions that turned to char and ash. Sadly, we lost our beautiful handmade instruments among other cherished belongings, and yet we are so very lucky to have escaped just in time. We truly love our bandmates and co-workers and are joyed that we can still see them smiling. The show must go on.
Reverb caught up with multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Django Rose to talk about the fire.
“Elephant Revival and our amazing crew, all of us, were affected and have experienced much loss with regard to instruments and material possessions,” Rose said. “As endangered as we all were, especially with the flames reaching the foot of Dan’s sleeping bag, we are very thankful that nobody was injured in the fire. From a state of half asleep, we assessed the situation and did exactly what our reptilian brain informed us to do, which was to get up and run. This tragedy has opened our eyes and we are focused on celebrating life and being grateful that we can continue to play music together. Thanks to everyone in the Hickory community and beyond for their support.
“A kind fan of ours started a page to help replace our instruments. We are currently filing claims with insurance, but know that there are some items that won’t be covered. Once the insurance process is complete, if the fan donations exceed what is needed to get back what was lost, we will donate any surplus funds to the Hickory, North Carolina Fire Department, The American Red Cross and MusiCares to help others in need. Thank you for your support.”
Elephant Revival played their first in May and have two more Colorado dates before the end of the year at the Arise Music Festival and a date with the Colorado Symphony.
