Kalle Kossila broke a 1-1 tie 42 seconds into the second period and St. Cloud State beat the University of Denver 6-2 on Saturday night in a National Collegiate Hockey Conference game at Magness Arena.

Gabe Levin and Grant Arnold scored for DU (7-7-2, 3-4-1-0 NCHC), which lost to the Huskies (14-4-0, 8-2-0-0) for the second straight game after previously being undefeated at Magness Arena.

Western Michigan 5, Colorado College 3

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Western Michigan’s Nolan LaPorte scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal 7:30 into the first period against Colorado College in an NCHC game at Lawson Ice Arena.

Trey Bradley had two goals for Colorado College (3-15-0, 2-8-0 NCHC).

Bradley got the Tigers on the board in the second period to cut their deficit to 2-1 before the Broncos (6-10-1, 4-6-0-0) scored two unanswered goals.
