A man who was shot after firing a gun at Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies has been transferred from a hospital to the county jail, authorities said.
Michael Manaois, 38, is being held for investigation of first-degree assault, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
His bond is set at $250,000, according to a news release by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies tried on Dec. 11 to arrest Manaois on felony warrants at Governors Plaza Shoes & Service, 9880 W. Belleview Ave.
Deputies tried to get Manaois to surrender peacefully but he refused to cooperate. A K-9 was released in the store and Manaois ran out the rear of the store into an alley, according to authorities.
The dog bit him, according to deputies. When he ran into an alley he aimed a gun at two deputies. One of the deputies fired two shots, hitting Manaois twice.
He continues to be treated for his injuries at the jail, the news release says.
