Pueblo police announced Wednesday the arrest of a man linked to a shooting last month that left a 16-year-old dead.

Dominik Jaramillo, 18, was taken into custody without incident on suspicion of first-degree murder, authorities say.

Jaramillo was wanted in the Dec. 14 shooting of Elijah Aguila at Pueblo’s Southside at Bruner Park. Investigators say a group of people gathered to watch what was supposed to be a fist fight when shots rang out and Aguila was killed.

Police say they arrested Jaramillo on Wednesday morning after he was spotted walking along U.S. 50.

He was taken to the Pueblo County jail.
