A fatal crash has closed a portion of Colorado 52 in Weld County on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The highway is closed in both directions between Weld County Road 5 and County Line Road 1 due to the crash that happened at 8:30 a.m., according to the Erie Police Department.
The road is expected to open in about an hour, according to Mountain View Fire Rescue.
There are no further details about the crash at this time.
Heavy delays are expected in the area.. The fire department asked motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while authorities investigate the scene.
