WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Avalanche will have Semyon Varlamov in goal Monday at the MTS Centre but otherwise will use the same lineup that limited Columbus to 21 shots Saturday night in Ohio.
Varlamov will step in for Calvin Pickard against the Winnipeg Jets, who will tie Colorado with 47 points with a regulation victory. Pickard started the previous two games, allowing just two goals.
The Jets, who are 0-2 against the Avs this season, are looking to win three in a row for the first time this season. They will attempt to do so without three forwards in Drew Stafford, Adam Lowry and Mark Sheifele.
Winnipeg (21-21-3) and Colorado (22-21-3) have near-identical records.
The Avs return home after the game and host the Buffalo Sabres and former teammates Ryan O’Reilly and Jamie McGinn on Wednesday at the Pepsi Center.
