A Fort Collins man with a history of violence who is currently suspected of stabbing his former girlfriend is at large, police said Tuesday.
Fort Collins police are searching for information about Charles Pierce, 42, who allegedly fled the scene of his former girlfriend’s home on Monday morning after stabbing her, according to a Fort Collins Police Department news release.
The 43-year-old victim, who has not been identified, suffered serious injury to her abdomen, but is expected to survive.
Pierce is described as five feet seven inches tall and 150 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and several tattoos including on his neck and face, police said.
He has been known to drive a purple Toyota Rav 4 with the license plate number of 585YLW.
“While police do not believe he poses an active threat to the public, Pierce has a history of violent behavior,” the release said. “Anyone who sees him should call 911. Do not attempt to approach or contact this suspect.”
Anyone with information about Pierce is asked to contact Detective Tessa Jakobsson at 970-221-6575 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.
