The cost of gasoline has not been so low for eons. Now is the time to raise the tax on gasoline and diesel fuel to pay for the transportation infrastructure we all depend on. In fact, it would be irresponsible not to do so. The extra nickel or dime might even stop the legislature s bad habit of robbing Peter to pay Paul to make ends meet. Heck, such a raise might even allow for some money to be spent on education — now wouldn t that be something!
