1 Not a smart move. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a car accident at Spruce Mountain Open Space,13415 Spruce Mountain Road, Douglas County, on Jan. 23. The driver said his car was stuck in the snowy parking lot. He was afraid he would be hit if he tried to back out so he cut three strands of barbed wire around the open space so he could pull through and turn around. When he tried to drive through the gap, his car got stuck. He was cited for criminal mischief.

2 CO2 scare. A maintenance man collapsed in a hallway of Lincoln Pointe Lofts,9783 Pyramid Court, Douglas County, on Jan. 27 after inhaling high levels of CO2. The man, who was OK, had been using a gas-powered power washer and cleaning solvents in the stairwell with the door propped open. Sheriff’s deputies helped evacuate the fourth floor after the incident because one resident sneaked back in after firefighters asked him to leave.

3 Plow pinched. The owner of a snow removal business reported that one of his ATVs with a plow attached was stolen Jan. 22 from the parking lot of a building in the 8300 block of South Valley Highway, Douglas County.

4 Let it shine. A homeowner in the 2600 block of Mountain View Avenue, Douglas County, said that someone broke his patio light overnight Jan. 22. The light itself was intact, dangling from the side of the house, but the support that kept it place was smashed.

5 Nissan Egg-sterra. A woman living in the 10000 block of Concordia Street, Douglas County, reported that her Nissan Xterra was egged overnight Jan. 27.
