Cloud cover will give way to sunny skies and higher temperatures in the Denver metro area beginning Friday afternoon, forecasters say.

The high is expected to be 36 on Friday, 46 on Saturday and 55 by Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The low temperatures are expect to be in the teens until Monday, when the low could be 27 degrees.

“That Monday through Thursday period is looking pretty nice,” NWS meteorologist Kyle Fredin said. “Mid-week we’re looking at 50s for sure.”

Much of the coming week’s high temperatures will be above 50 and as high as 55 on Thursday, the NWS predicts.

It is expected to be windy in the mountains with gusts reaching 30 mph Friday and going above 50 mph on Sunday, Fredin said.
