Loveland’s, the 3-D printer company that printers, said Tuesday it has opened a new fulfillment center in Australia to expand distribution of its LulzBot 3-D printers.

As anyone who ships to Australia knows, shipping is expensive! Australia is where Aleph’s fourth-largest customer base is outside of United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, said Harris Kenny, Aleph’s vice president of marketing.

“One challenge that limits sales in Australia is shipping costs,” Kenny said. “Fortunately, this new fulfillment center addresses that concern and puts us in a strong position to serve both existing customers and new ones.”

The company first expanded internationally in 2013, when it opened distribution centers in Canada and the United Kingdom. The new Australian facility in Sydney, New South Wales, will be staffed by a third-party logistics company so Aleph won’t have full-time employees there. But the company plans to increase its sales and marketing efforts down under this year, Kenny added.

Aleph, which is known for keeping its design and source code open to the developer community, also shared that sales tripled in 2015, reaching $15 million in annual revenues.

Last year, the company expanded to a 17,000-square-foot space in Loveland. At the facility, it had 135 3-D printers printing more 3-D printers that are sold to customers.

Aleph employs more than 100 people. It also has fulfillment centers in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto and London.
