A man suspected of at a Howard Johnson hotel apparently committed suicide in Wyoming hotel, Wheat Ridge Police announced on Tuesday.

Colorado law enforcement relayed information that led the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department to find , 43, in a Cheyenne, Wyo., hotel room on February 5.

After five hours of attempted negotiation, deputies entered the room and found him dead of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a release.

They also found a black 2007 Nissan Frontier that was reported stolen in Wheat Ridge on the day of the stabbing.

Police said the woman, who was not identified, was stabbed multiple times at the Howard Johnson hotel in the area of West 44th Avenue and Tabor Street, on Feb. 4.

Howton was seen in security footage leaving the hotel following the stabbing.
