
The Front Range will be sunny and breezy Tuesday as temperatures climb above 60 and head toward a new record high by Thursday, weather forecasters say.
Under sunny skies, Denver’s high Tuesday will be around 61, meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Boulder predict.
Winds mostly from the west will be between 7 and 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph Tuesday, according to the forecast. The low temperature is expected to be 36 degrees.
Between 4 and 8 inches of snow has fallen in the high country since Saturday. It will continue to snow Tuesday in the mountains, but flurries will taper off in the afternoon, said Kyle Fredin, a NWS meteorologist stationed in Boulder.
“We’ll be pretty warm in the Denver metro area,” Fredin said.
Temperatures will continue to rise through the middle of the week increasing to 66 on Wednesday and a possible record of 72 on Thursday.
Winds will remain strong with gusts up to 21 mph on Wednesday and 31 mph on Thursday.
The temperatures will drop to the low 60s on Friday and Saturday. By Sunday the high temperature will be near 51 under sunny skies.
