
Broncos free-agent defensive end Malik Jackson seems prepared to test the market.
“In talking to my agent, I got a pretty good idea of what my worth is,” Jackson said while a guest on NFL Network on Monday. “But I would like to see — because you never know — just to see the numbers. But if Denver came with quality numbers close to what we feel I deserve, then I would stay.”
Wanting to stay with the defense that, he said, has a strong case to be named among the NFL’s best ever will factor into his decision. But so will money.

“I think it’s 50-50,” Jackson said. “That’s what makes it so hard, because you want to get paid. That’s your dream, to get paid and take care of your family. But you still want to win, too.”
The Broncos have opened discussions with Jackson, 26, about a new contract after he capped 2015 with 5.5 sacks and seven pass breakups (second-most among defensive ends behind Houston’s J.J. Watt), plus a touchdown in Super Bowl 50. Although the team earlier signed Derek Wolfe to , trying to retain Jackson is among their priorities this offseason.
