Denver firefighters battled an intense barn fire late Tuesday afternoon in southwest Denver, officials said.

No injuries were reported at the fire at 3425 S. Knox Court, said Lt. Mike Pylar with Denver Fire.

Crews responded to the call just after 4 p.m., found heavy smoke and intense fire.

The stubborn fire, in a historic, circa 1895 barn that was part of the Shirley Farm Dairy and , was eventually snuffed out by firefighters, Denver7, KMGH News reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
