A Denver school has been taken off lockdown after police investigated a report that a weapon was seen at the middle school.

Contemporary Learning Academy at 200 E. 9th Ave. was placed on lockdown status, according to a 12:12 p.m. tweet by Denver Public Schools.

But a half hour later, school district officials announced that children and staff are safe.

Denver police officers responded to campus in response to the report and investigated, said Doug Schepman, Denver police spokesman.
