1 Snow ride to be had. A man bought a snowmobile from his friend. The friend said he would leave the keys in a compartment of an ATV he was keeping at a storage yard in the 5600 block of North Peterson Road, Sedalia. When the buyer went to pick up the keys Feb. 15, he found someone had cut a hole in the fence and stolen the ATV.

2 Family phone flap. A woman living in the 9800 block of Chadwick Way, Highlands Ranch, on Feb. 15 said her stepdaughter stole an iPhone 6 from her. She said she agreed to loan her stepdaughter the phone for a time but the girl refused to return it so she had the service shut off. She then got a call from AT&T saying someone had impersonated her and asked the phone be dropped from the service, resulting in a $494.97 charge for its remaining worth. Police contacted the stepdaughter. She returned it.

3 Shyster seeking timeshare. A real estate agent living in the 9000 block of Renoir Drive, Highlands Ranch, on Feb. 16 reported a man was using his name to buy timeshares then rip off sellers for a $650 closing fee.

4 Tax season = fraud season. A man living in the 10900 block of Deer Haven Trail, Douglas County, on Feb. 17 reported that he tried to file his taxes online but was rejected because his Social Security number had already been used. It was fraud.

5 Truck has vampire wounds. A man and his girlfriend were getting in his truck in in the 17400 block of Nature Walk Trail, Douglas County, on Feb. 17 when she saw two punctures made with a screwdriver in his passenger door. It cost $5,000 to fix.
