1 Family brawlers. A mother and daughter who were reported to be fighting Feb. 17 in the Walmart at 7455 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood began brawling with police when they tried to arrest the mom on an outstanding warrant.

2 Shoplifter busted. Officers on foot patrol in Colorado Mills, 14500 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, tracked down a man they saw steal sunglasses Feb. 17. Syringes, morphine and more stolen items were found in the suspect’s backpack. He was arrested.

3 Couple arrested. A married couple was arrested Feb. 17 on outstanding warrants after police were called to their home in the 8000 block of West 10th Avenue in Lakewood on a domestic disturbance report.

4 Likely story. Police responding Feb. 17 to a possible break-in of a laundry room of an apartment building in the 1200 block of Yukon Street in Lakewood chased a suspect who fled from the scene. The man said he was running to deliver an oxygen tank to his mom. Police didn’t find the tank but did arrest the man for heroin possession.

5 Animal welfare check. Officers following through on a court order stopped by a home in the 1500 block of South Chase Court on Feb. 17 to check the welfare of two dogs and two rabbits. Officers reported the animals looked underfed and told the owner they’d be back by in a few weeks.

6 Restraining order ignored. Police arrested a man Feb. 3 after his intoxicated ex-girlfriend, who had a restraining order against him, called him for a ride. The woman’s parents called police when he showed up at her home in the 12900 block of West Cedar Drive, Lakewood.
