
1 MMA drunken melee. Three men were reportedly physically fighting in a room at the 4-U Motel, 3850 S. Broadway, Englewood, on Feb. 21. Police interviewed one who was very drunk and bleeding from his ear. He said he was a mixed martial arts fighter and his ear was just like that. He was taken to a hospital but did not press charges.
2 Tough break after bar back-and-forth. Someone reported an assault in progress at D’s Tavern,819 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton, on Feb. 13 but police found only a verbal argument in the parking lot. One man involved was found to be in violation of a protection order by drinking and was arrested.
3 No parking in the park. An officer patrolling Sterne Park,5800 S. Spotswood St., Littleton, at 11 p.m. Jan. 28 saw two shopping carts under a tree and a woman lying down there. She was ticketed for breaking park curfew, which starts at 10 p.m.
4 Sex assault investigation gets murky. A woman called police on Jan. 23 because she believed she was sexually assaulted by a man in her building in the 200 block of West Powers Place, Littleton. She said she drank a lot of vodka and wound up in the apartment of a man she’d never met. She believed he touched her inappropriately. Her boyfriend burst in and “pushed her away for safety,” giving her a bloody nose. The suspect said contact with the woman was consensual and her boyfriend slapped her. Only the boyfriend was arrested for domestic violence.
5 No street booze. A man was cited for an open liquor container in the 3300 block of South Broadway, Englewood, on Feb. 26.
