
1 Persistent shoe thief. Store security at the Walmart at 9901 Grant St., Thornton, called police Feb. 26 because a man came into the store, put on a new pair of shoes and tried to leave. Security stopped him outside, so he kicked the shoes off and at them and ran into a nearby Gander Mountain store in his socks. He came out a minute later wearing boots and ran away.
2 Valentine’s dates. A woman called police to the area of West 106th Avenue and Huron Street in Northglenn because a man she was seeing attacked another man that she was hanging out with Feb. 14. The suspect saw the woman and the other man walking, so he yelled at her and hit her friend in the head with a wrench. No one pressed charges.
3 Fake service dog. A bartender at Halftime Sports Bar at 6051 Quebec St., Commerce City, called police Feb. 20 because a man brought his pet dog into the bar, refused to leave and threatened to fight other customers. The man said his pet was a service dog, but he had no papers for it.
4 Dumpster bathroom. A patrolling police officer caught a man urinating behind a Dumpster in 1700 block of West 85th Avenue, Federal Heights.
5 Broken door. Police were called to the 6400 block of 64th Avenue, Commerce City, because a man came home from vacation Feb. 19 and saw that his front door had been kicked in. Nothing was missing.
6 Unprovoked attacks. A man who lives in the 9800 block of Federal Boulevard, Federal Heights, was cited because he tried to hit his neighbor with a baseball bat for no reason Feb. 2.
