After getting its last week, Buena Vista’s four-day, 20,000-person music festival has chosen a name and released the initial lineup of its inaugural event.
Madison House Presents’ August 5-7 festival is called Vertex, and will feature headline performances by jam ensemble Trey Anastasio Band, blues rockers the Alabama Shakes and DJ duo ODESZA. Other artists on the bill include Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, BADBADNOTGOOD, Dawes, Graham Nash, Classixx, Houndmouth, Jai Wolf, The Claypool Lennon Delirium and more. Tickets to Vertex go on sale at noon on March 25 via . GA passes to the event start at $199.75. VIP passes will also be available, offering creekside camping, RV access and electrical outlets.
A portion of each ticket sale will benefit the development of a community garden in Buena Vista.

Besides music, Vertex will feature art installations and outdoor adventure experiences like whitewater rafting and hiking.
Vertex is being produced by Madison House Presents president Jeremy Stein, who organized Michigan’s Electric Forest festival. Stein shed light on the festival’s name in a release. “Music, art, great food, the outdoors, and the best of Colorado culture will all meet at this amazing festival site to create Vertex. This will be a one-of-a-kind event, created by Coloradans who care about community first. We aim for Buena Vista and Chaffee county to be proud, for Colorado to celebrate, and for the national eye to sharpen its focus on this very special state.”
