Getting your player ready...

Kylee Shook of Mesa Ridge in Colorado Springs was on the winning squad Wednesday in the 15th McDonald’s All-American Game.

Competing at the United Center in Chicago, Shook had two points while playing a team-low in minutes played (13), but was part of the West Team that outlasted the East 97-88 in overtime.

One of two players in the game headed to Louisville, Shook was 1-of-6 from the floor, including 0-for-1 in 3-pointers; grabbed four rebounds (three on defense); had two assists; blocked two shots; and committed one turnover.

The West was paced by a game-record 25 points by Sabrina Ionescu of Miramonte High School in Orinda, Calif. And so much for recruiting — amid players who have signed with Connecticut, Stanford, Norte Dame and Baylor, Ionescu has yet to announce her college choice and said she won’t until perhaps late April.

Shook is the fifth Coloradan to play in the game, according to the event’s website (www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com). She joined Cissy Pierce, Heritage, 2004; Liz Sherwood, Highlands Ranch, 2003; Ann Strother, Highlands Ranch, 2002; and Abby Waner, ThunderRidge, 2005.
