FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — The last of five people charged in the kidnapping and death of a Fort Collins woman have been sentenced to long prison terms.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (http://tinyurl.com/j36ousf) a judge sentenced 36-year-old Jose Rosario to 40 years in prison Thursday. Twenty-two-year-old Chataigner McCaffrey-Pickett was sentenced to 32 years.
Both accepted deals with prosecutors. McCaffrey-Pickett pleaded guilty to first-degree assault. The charge against Rosario wasn’t immediately available.
They were charged in the 2014 abduction and beating death of 28-year-old Andrea Bartmess. Authorities say she had gone to a home to buy drugs but was taken to a barn, tied up, choked and stomped on.
Three other people were sentenced earlier to prison terms ranging from 12 to 75 years for their roles in the death.
