Take a train or hop in a pedi-cab if you want to avoid shelling out major bucks for parking for the Rockies’ home opener today.
Parking lots near Coors Field crossed out signs with average-day rates to instead collect $50 and even $80 per car.
SP+ Parking, like many parking companies, raises rates depending on major events. A company spokeswoman said the price varies at each lot and she didn’t have a list.
“Not long ago we groaned at $20,” tweeted one Denverite.
Consider if you’re headed toward LoDo.
Two hours before game time, there were still reasonable spots to be found for people willing to make a 15-minute walk from the ballpark. Parking apps were still selling spaces for $12 within three-quarters of a mile of Coors Field.
