LITTLETON — Before 23-year-old Jaime Albert Villarreal was shot to death last month, he had earned his commercial driver’s license.
Villarreal had plans of following in his father’s footsteps to become a car hauler, and he was just waiting to be old enough to step into the business.
But in the early morning hours of , Villarreal was shot and killed while plowing snow in business parking lots near the intersection of West Mineral Avenue and South Windermere Street. Another man, whose identity was not released, was also shot and injured and has since been released from the hospital.

Wednesday morning, Villarreal’s family made a public plea asking for anyone with information to step forward.
“His life was just beginning,” said Erica Villarreal, the victim’s mother. “Nothing that happens going forward will ever bring him back, but we need peace in our lives and we need justice.”
Villarreal, who was originally from Hartford, Texas, left behind a 3-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.
