
The skies over Denver should be clear and sunny for the next few days as temperatures climb to the high 70s following a storm system that lingered over the area.
The clouds left a mark on the metro area, making this April wetter than normal so far with 1.62 inches of water in the form of rain and snow.
That’s 61 percent more than the average amount of rainfall in the Denver metro area for this time of the month, according to Bernie Meier, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Starting Thursday, the area begins to warm up.
The high on Thursday is expected to reach 66 degrees on a breezy day. Winds from the north northeast will be between 7 to 11 mph with gusts up to 16 mph.
The low temperature Thursday night could drop to 40 degrees.
Under sunny skies, the highs will be around 76 on Friday and 77 on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The low on Friday will drop to around 47 degrees.
A south-southwest wind will be brisk Saturday between 10 to 14 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph.
There is a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight Saturday night.
The high temperature will drop about 12 degrees on a breezy day Sunday.
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The high temperatures will be around 66 on Monday, and 57 both on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a slight chance of snow Tuesday night.
