A man who and went on a crime spree across the Denver area before he was captured 10 days later was sentenced Wednesday to 72 years in prison, prosecutors say.

Travis Sandlin, 34, of 32 counts in the rampage by a jury.

Sandlin stole several vehicles across the Front Range, broke into a number of garages and homes and stole laptops, credit cards and other items during his rampage.

Sandlin’s crimes spanned six law enforcement jurisdictions.

Sandlin became the first person to ever escape from the jail when on Oct. 5, 2014, he broke through a small gap in wire fencing encasing an outdoor recreation area and jumped down several roofs.

He was finally after ramming an armored SWAT vehicle with a stolen van.

Sandlin had a long criminal history dating back 15 years at the time of his escape that included convictions for burglary, car theft and fraud.

The escape led to county commissioners granting the sheriff’s office $100,000 for the jail’s five recreation yards.
