Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones still regrets in the NFL draft.
Jones told the Star-Telegram last Saturday that , the selection that ultimately went to the Broncos.
“When I look back on my life, I overpaid for my big successes every time,” Jones said to the Star-Telegram. “And when I tried to get a bargain, get it a little cheaper or get a better deal on it, I ended up usually either getting it and not happy I got it. Or missing it.
“And I probably should have overpaid here.”
Jones was , Nos. 34 and 67 overall, according to the Dallas Morning News.
It was Jones’ son Stephen who told his father that there was “no way with Seattle. Too much. They want our two and three,” the younger Jones told .
The Cowboys would end up drafting former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott in the fourth round (135th pick).
