Denver will see another warm and sunny day Friday — just before the weekend becomes cooler and wet.

The National Weather Service is expecting Friday’s highs in the metro area to reach around 81 degrees, with winds that could gust as high as 15 mph at times. There’s also a slight chance of thunderstorms Friday night.

For Mother’s Day weekend, temperatures will dip into the 60s with a chance of thunderstorms Saturday, and mostly cloudy skies Sunday with a 40 percent chance of rain.

The same storm is expected to drop snow over the mountains, although little accumulation is expected.

Denver had a that dropped several inches of snow in the mountains, and left slushy roads and frosted budding trees in the city.
