Storms, rain to continue into early next week in Denver

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. After the sun peeked out again Sunday morning, forecasters expect showers and thunderstorms to hit the Denver area starting early Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

in Yuma and Wray counties, but there’s little chance of severe weather on Mother’s Day. The metro area could see some hail and strong winds throughout the afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the low 60s through early next week, finally warming up to around 75 on Thursday.

The dreary weather will linger over the next few days. There’s a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms on Monday and a possibility for storms on Tuesday. Forecasters expect the sun to come out Wednesday.

The mountains could receive up to six inches of snow by the end of the day on Monday.
