Colorado Springs police are investigating after a woman with “traumatic injuries” was found dead early Thursday in a home in the southern part of the city.
The woman was found about 5:30 a.m. by officers called on a welfare check at a residence in the 900 block of Mt. Werner Circle, just west of the Broadmoor Towne Center.
Detectives from the police department’s violent crimes unit are investigating the death, but officials did not elaborate.
“No further information is available at this time,” police said in a news release. “This is an active investigation.”
Authorities did not say if they are searching for any suspects in the case or how exactly the woman died.
