A 19-year-old who died in a “car surfing” incident on the Western Slope has been identified.
Brandon Lovett, of Grand Junction, died of blunt force head injuries, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office ruled his manner of death an accident.
Lovett was riding on the trunk of a car Monday in Grand Junction when he fell from the moving vehicle, which police said was going less than 40 mph.
Lovett was taken to a local hospital were he later died.
The Grand Junction Police Department is investigation the incident.
