
Prosecutors have formally charged a man who pointed a gun at police Sunday from the balcony of an apartment in downtown Denver.
Police later discovered that what had been described as a long gun was a “short, shotgun-style BB gun,” according to a news release Friday from the Denver district attorney’s office.
The man has been identified as 57-year-old James Bronish. He is in custody facing five counts of felony menacing and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
the apartment at 1955 Arapahoe St. reported a man making threats and pointing a rifle at 9:17 p.m. Sunday.
Police responded and exchanged shots with the man, injuring him. He was transported to a hospital with “non-life threatening injuries.” There were no other injuries.
Bronish is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
